The Staff Account will perform functions relating to monthly financial close, including journal entries and reconciliations with a focus on fixed assets, licensed royalties, prepaids and general accruals.

Responsibilities:

  • Support timely monthly financial close, including assigned journal entries, accruals, and overall maintenance of accounts related specifically to fixed assets, licensed royalties, prepaid and general accruals.
  • Performs mid-level general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data. Report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
  • Support daily tasks as it relates to acquiring, disposing and transferring of assets into the asset sub-ledger.
  • Maintain internal control procedures, including documentation needed for both internal and external auditors.
  • Comply and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required, with CPA (or CPA potential) preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a corporate accounting department with duties related to the general ledger closing using an ERP type accounting system, 3-5 years preferred.
  • Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Experience in prepaid assets is a plus.
  • Strict attention to detail; proficient at identifying trends and what stands out as unusual.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in understanding accounting standards related to retail environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
